Moses makes a promise today: the LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you. You must listen to him.

Centuries later, on a mountain, with Moses himself standing by, the Father's voice completes the sentence: this is My Son, whom I have chosen; listen to Him. Today the promise and the fulfillment share a page.

Deuteronomy 18 promised a prophet like Moses; the transfiguration shows how far the fulfillment outran the promise. Moses stood on the mountain, and this time he was the listener, discussing with Jesus a greater exodus, out of sin and death, accomplished at Jerusalem for everyone.

Asaph's envy found its cure in the same place the disciples found their bearings: in the sanctuary, in the Presence, where destinies come into focus and God becomes portion enough. Whatever is scoffing at your faithfulness this week, get into the Presence and listen to Him. Perspective lives there, and so does your portion.
