Jesus talked about money again and again. He wasn't fundraising. He was fighting for hearts. Here's the short version of what we believe.
God gave first. Everything we give is a response to a Savior who gave everything.
Money isn't harmless. Jesus called it a rival master, and Paul called greed an idol.
The tithe isn't a New Covenant law. But under grace, the examples go far beyond it.
Giving is gain. “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

How we use every dollar
In just over a year, we've seen 163 people baptized, many of them people who walked in not knowing Jesus. Somebody's generosity made room for every one of those stories: a place to meet, a kids' team, a worship team, a meal for a first-time guest. Here's where your giving goes.
The first ten cents of every dollar. It goes out the door to reach people beyond our walls, locally and around the world.
The pastors and team who lead Sundays, Spirit Kids, groups, and care, and who carry the week in between.
A place to meet. Rent, setup, and the equipment it takes to turn a space into a church every Sunday.
Everything behind the scenes: software, insurance, accounting, first-time guest meals, and the everyday costs of ministry.

Spirit Church exists because other churches believed in us and gave before we ever launched. We want to do the same for others.
Missions & Bible translation
So every people group can read God's Word in its own language.
We budget on 80% of last year's giving.
The other 20% goes into reserves. We never plan to spend money we haven't already received, so a slow month never becomes a crisis. Paul put his handling of a gift in writing for anyone to read, and we hold ourselves to that standard. Every dollar you give is handled carefully and treated as sacred, because it is.
Board-approved. A board of directors approves our budget and oversees our finances.
Outside accountant. We keep our own books, and an outside accountant reviews them.

Three questions worth sitting with.
Is money competing with Jesus for my trust?
Am I holding back out of wisdom, or out of fear?
What percentage am I giving right now?
Then decide something, and set it up while it's still a decision and not a feeling. Jesus said your heart follows your treasure. Put your treasure in the kingdom, and watch your heart go there too: toward Jesus, toward His church, and toward the people who don't know Him yet.
Questions about giving
If it's your first time, no. Please feel no pressure. Just watch what God does here. But don't stay “new” forever. Generosity isn't optional for a follower of Jesus; it's part of following Him. And in the New Testament, giving normally started with your local church: the people who fed you spiritually, cared for you, and sent the gospel out together. So once Spirit Church is your church, this is the natural place for your giving to start. Start somewhere. Start small if you need to. Then grow.
We don't teach the tithe as a command. The New Testament commands generosity but never legislates an amount, and the tithe was tied to Israel's land, priesthood, and temple. We do believe a tenth is a wise benchmark: a real, felt step that is easy to build on. Many of us use it as a baseline and grow from there. Freedom from the Law is never freedom from generosity. Grace doesn't lower the standard. It changes the motive.
Two things are true, and you need both. God will never ask you to neglect the people who depend on you (1 Timothy 5:8), and a gift is measured by willingness and means, not by its size (2 Corinthians 8:12; Mark 12:41–44). So give something; small is not nothing. Put it at the front of your budget instead of the end. And if money feels chaotic, following Jesus includes getting it in order. Yes. Spirit Church is a church, and gifts to it are tax-deductible to the full extent the law allows. We send year-end giving statements every January, and you can see your giving history anytime by signing in to My Account.
Use the Give Stock or Give Crypto buttons above. The transfer takes a few minutes, and the gift goes straight to the church. Giving an appreciated asset directly, instead of selling it first, can mean a larger gift and a lower tax bill. Talk to your tax advisor about your situation.
On Legacy Sundays, our whole church gives above and beyond regular giving to fund what's beyond our weekly budget. Legacy giving runs in five lanes: local missions, national missions, international missions, Spirit building projects, and Spirit Academy, free online Bible training for any church that wants it. Building projects include future expansion and, one day, a permanent home for Spirit Church, so we can serve the city all week and not just on Sundays.
