A condemned criminal, dying beside Jesus, makes the shortest salvation prayer on record: Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.

The answer arrives before the sentence ends: truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise. No résumé, no time to reform, just a request and a King. Today you stand at the cross in Luke. Stand close.

Gideon's three hundred and the thief's one sentence make the same point from opposite ends: salvation is the LORD's arm, not ours. God shrank an army so no one could boast, and He saved a dying criminal so no one could despair. Between those two stories stands everyone who will ever be rescued.

Father, forgive them, prayed over the very men with the hammers, is the widest sentence ever spoken, and the thief simply stepped inside it. So can you, today, with as little in hand as he had. And so can the person you have decided is too far gone. Remember me is still a complete prayer, and today is still His favorite word.
