Hezekiah mails invitations to a shattered nation: come back, keep Passover, the LORD is gracious. Some tear the letters up laughing. Some walk south with tears in their eyes.

The invitation of God has always gotten both responses. Today, be the second kind of reader. Come to the table even if you feel unqualified, especially if you feel unqualified.

The Passover crowd was unclean and God healed them anyway, because Hezekiah asked for pardon based on direction, not condition: everyone who sets their heart on seeking God. Their paperwork was wrong. Their faces were pointed the right way. That was enough.

Psalm 25 already knew this about God: he instructs sinners in his ways. Romans 15 shows the family it builds, strong carrying weak, every voice in one chorus. If you have been waiting to get clean before coming to the table, you have the order backward. Come. The cleansing happens at the meal.
