The builders on Jerusalem's wall worked with a tool in one hand and a weapon in the other, because the mockery had turned into plots. Nobody got to choose between building and defending. The work required both.

So does yours. Whatever God has you constructing, expect resistance to arrive mid-project, and expect some of it to come from inside the camp.

The wall went up under a two-front war: mockers outside, exploiters inside, and Nehemiah met each with the right tool. Swords and prayer for Sanballat. Confrontation and repentance for the nobles. He never confused the enemies, and he never stopped building through either.

Psalm 32 guards the inside of the builder the same way. Unconfessed sin is internal sabotage, drought in the bones while the hands stay busy. The strongest position on today's pages is Nehemiah's whole posture: sword up, trowel moving, heart clean, God fighting.
