The most powerful army on earth surrounds Jerusalem, and Hezekiah gathers the people to do math out loud: with him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God.

Then, in the same chapters, the worst king in Judah's history hits bottom in a Babylonian prison and prays. Today holds a rescued city and a rescued monster. God does both.

Hold today's two rescues side by side. Jerusalem was saved because a good king trusted God against impossible numbers. Manasseh was saved because a wicked king finally broke. One deliverance came through faith, the other through failure that turned into humility, and the same God authored both.

That range is the point. If you are outnumbered, Hezekiah's math is yours: an arm of flesh cannot outnumber the LORD. And if you are the one who wrecked everything, Manasseh is in the Bible for you. There is no hook so deep that humbling yourself cannot bring you home.
