The Bible ends today. The Old Testament closes with a sunrise, the sun of righteousness rising with healing in its rays, and the New Testament closes with a prayer three words long: come, Lord Jesus.

Three hundred sixty-five days of reading come down to this: a Book that ends leaning forward. Read the last pages slowly. Then turn toward the new year the same way Scripture turns toward eternity, expectant.

Every reading today ends leaning forward. Malachi leaves the Old Testament watching for a sunrise. Revelation leaves the New Testament mid-prayer: come, Lord Jesus. The psalm hands every breathing thing an instrument, and Proverbs sends its hero out laughing at the days to come. Scripture does not end with a period. It ends with an open door.

So can you. However much of this year you spent in these pages, one day or all three hundred sixty-five, you are ending it inside God's Word, and that is no small thing. Walk into the new year the way the Bible walks into eternity: reverent, expectant, praising with the breath you have. The sun of righteousness rises with healing. Stand where the light will land.
