Two desperate people intercept Jesus today: a synagogue ruler whose daughter is dying, and a woman whose bleeding has made her untouchable for twelve years. One has status and uses it; one has nothing and steals a touch.

Jesus stops for both. Whatever door you would come through today, front or back, in a crowd or on your knees, He stops. Come.

Under Leviticus' rules, the bleeding woman made Jesus ceremonially unclean by touching Him, and the dead girl's hand should have done the same. Instead the current ran the other way: His cleanness overwhelmed their uncleanness. That reversal is the gospel in miniature. Holiness in Jesus is not fragile. It is contagious.

So the old logic of keeping your distance until you are presentable has been retired. Come like the woman, trembling and truthful; come like Jairus, desperate and asking; come like David, confessing and waiting. The words over the girl are His posture toward every hopeless case: do not be afraid. Get up.
