Genesis begins with God making a world; Matthew begins with God keeping a promise through generations of ordinary, flawed families. Put together, they say something worth carrying into a new year: God is not in a hurry, and He does not waste material. Creation took a week. The Messiah took two thousand years of names.
Psalm 1 tells you your part: plant yourself by the stream. A year in Scripture is exactly that, roots finding water on schedule. You do not have to feel dramatic about day one. Trees never do. Delight, stay planted, and let the seasons do their work. Fruit is coming.
