The Bible's third chapter is where everything breaks, and the first question God asks a hiding human is not an accusation. It is an invitation: where are you?
You will read hard things today, a fall, a murder, a massacre. Read them with that question in your ears. God's response to hiding people has always been to come looking for them.
Genesis 3 and Matthew 2 tell the same story from opposite directions. In Eden, humanity grasps at being like God and loses the garden. In Bethlehem, God becomes human and loses His safety, hunted by a king before He can walk. The head-crusher promised to Eve is the toddler on the road to Egypt.
And the question still stands in the cool of the day: where are you? Not because God lost track of you, but because hiding never healed anyone. Answer honestly, whatever the honest answer is. The One asking has already proven how far He will travel to bring His children home.
