Much of your life happens unseen, the private prayers, the quiet gifts, the tears nobody clocks. Today's readings insist that unseen and unnoticed are not the same thing.
Hagar was the least important person in Abram's household by every earthly measure, a foreign slave, used and then mistreated. She is also the first person in Scripture to give God a name. The God of the covenant ceremony and the renamed patriarch stopped in the desert for her. He sees. He hears. He always has.
