Today includes the hardest walk in the Old Testament: a father, a son, wood, fire, and three days of silence up a mountain called Moriah. It also includes the sentence that carries the whole Bible on its back: God Himself will provide the lamb.
Read slowly today. Some chapters are meant to be hiked, not skimmed, and this is one of them.
On the way up Moriah, Isaac asks the question and Abraham answers in faith he cannot yet see: God Himself will provide the lamb. A ram in a thicket kept that word for the moment. Two thousand years later, on a hill in the same region, God kept it completely, and this time no angel stopped the execution.
Jesus ends His sermon asking what your life is built on, and Moriah shows the only foundation that holds: the tested, proven providing of God. Storms are in every forecast; both builders got rain. Build on the God who provides even on the mountain, and when the wind finds your walls, they will hold.
