An empire's army surrounds Jerusalem, and a blasphemous letter arrives promising destruction. Hezekiah went up to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD, and prayed.

No strategy session first, no panicked alliance, the threat itself laid open on the altar. Today, whatever letter you are carrying, bad news, hard diagnosis, cruel words, bring it up the hill and unfold it before Him.

Hezekiah's move is prayer at its most physical: the actual letter, unrolled on the temple floor, as if to say, LORD, read it Yourself. He did not minimize the threat, Assyria really had burned every god in its path, but he measured it against the God who made heaven and earth, and asked for rescue with a missionary motive: so the world would know.

Paul carries the same posture toward his own Jerusalem: eyes open, warnings heard, heart set, the Lord's will be done. Faith is not pretending the army is small; it is unfolding the worst on the altar and leaving the outcome with the only One who commands angels. Spread your letter out today, and pray for an audience bigger than your relief.
