The ark comes home today, carried the right way this time, and David hands Asaph a psalm that overflows the page: sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts. Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

Romans, meanwhile, diagnoses what happens when humanity glories in anything else. Two trajectories, one choice of worship. Choose gloriously.

Romans 1 reads like the photographic negative of David's psalm: humanity knew God and refused the two responses the ark procession models, glorify and give thanks, and every disorder afterward flows from that first withheld worship. Idolatry is not primarily bad statues; it is glory exchanged, the infinite traded for the manageable.

David's corrected ark-carrying adds a practical note: zeal must learn God's prescribed ways, and worship includes the details. So build the day around the psalm's verbs, sing, tell, glory, rejoice, seek, remember, and let gratitude crowd out the exchanges on offer. Hearts that glory in His name have no vacancy for lesser gods.
