Romans spends nine verses closing every mouth, no one righteous, not even one, and then swings history's hinge in two words: but now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known... This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

Justified freely by His grace. If the gospel were a single page, it would be this one. Read it like your acquittal, because it is.

But now may be the New Testament's greatest hinge: after the courtroom silence of universal guilt, God unveils a righteousness that comes from Him, lands on believers, and costs Christ everything, so that God remains perfectly just while justifying the ungodly. Boasting dies at that altar; only faith and gratitude survive it.

David's preparations preach the human echo of grace: he gathered materials for a magnificence he would never see, because the work was God's and the timeline was not his to own. Live justified today, nothing to prove, everything given, and spend your energies stockpiling for what God will build beyond you: children, church, kingdom. Devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD.
