Abraham was a hundred years old, holding a promise about a body that had given up. Paul says he faced that fact without weakening. Faith is not pretending things are better than they are.

Today you will read lists of gatekeepers and treasurers, and a man believing God against the math. Both are faith. Come honest about your own math, and ready to hope anyway.

Today held two kinds of believing. Abraham believed a promise with no evidence in sight. The gatekeepers believed enough to show up for a shift at a door. We usually rank the first kind higher. Scripture does not.

Faith against all hope and faith on an ordinary Tuesday come from the same place: trusting that God is who He says He is. Some seasons ask you to hope against the math. Most seasons ask you to keep your post. Both count. Both are credited, because righteousness by faith was never reserved for the dramatic moments.
