Stephen reaches the burning bush and the tabernacle today, and lands the point his judges least want: the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands.

The same day's Old Testament pages gleam with Solomon's bronze and gold. Scripture holds both: build beautifully for God, and never imagine He can be contained. Worship the Inhabitant, not the architecture.

Bronze pillars named He establishes and In Him is strength confessed at the temple door what Stephen preached in the dock: the building depended on God, never the reverse. Israel's tragedy, Stephen argues, was serial: rejecting Moses, gilding a calf, and finally domesticating the temple into a talisman while resisting the God above it.

The New Testament finishes the thought gloriously: through Christ, you are now the temple, God's Spirit dwelling not in your buildings but in you. So keep making beautiful things for God, music, spaces, work, and refuse to confine Him to any of them. Holy ground can be a Midian hillside, a kitchen, a cubicle. He is with you there.
