A new book opens today, and it begins on a hillside with the risen Jesus making a promise and a plan: you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Then He ascends, and two angels ask the question that launches the church: why do you stand here looking into the sky? There is work, and power is coming.
The disciples wanted a timetable, is this the time?, and Jesus gave them a vocation instead: witnesses, powered by the Spirit, on a map that widens from home to everywhere. The church has never needed to know the schedule; it has only needed to know its testimony and its Source.
The mountains psalm travels well into Acts: help comes from the Maker, who neither slumbers nor sleeps, watching every coming and going of every witness since. Your Jerusalem is wherever you already are, kitchen, workplace, group chat. Stop scanning the sky for timelines, ask for the power, and say what you have seen Him do.
