Between them, Stephen begins the Bible's longest sermon. Build today, work today, but let the reading keep asking who the real builder is.

Solomon's site was famously quiet, no hammer heard, stones fitted before arrival, and quieter still was the word that interrupted the project: the LORD would inhabit obedience, not architecture. Magnificence has never impressed God; covenant faithfulness has. The grandest structure is vanity if He is not the builder.

Psalm 127 widens the audit to your whole life: career, security, family, even sleep, all vanity as anxious self-projects, all gift when received from His hands. Something you are building right now needs its ownership transferred. Hand Him the blueprints today, work hard as His subcontractor, and accept the sleep He grants those He loves.
