Moses distills the entire law into one breathtaking question and answer: what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear Him, to walk in obedience to Him, to love Him, to serve Him with all your heart, and to observe His commands for your own good?

For your own good, that phrase is the key change. God's requirements have always been His gifts wearing work clothes. Receive them that way today.

Deuteronomy 10 and the sower parable interlock: God asks for hearts, circumcised, softened, noble and good soil, because everything else He wants from you grows out of that dirt. Israel's forty years and the seed's four soils tell the same story: the condition of the heart decides the harvest.

And the asking is for your own good, He needs nothing, owns everything, and legislates like a Father. So do the day's soil work: hear the word slowly, retain it on purpose, persevere when thorns argue. And copy one specific divine habit before the week ends: He loves the foreigner, feeds and clothes the outsider. Go and do likewise.
