The crowd that ate the loaves tracks Jesus around the lake, and He tells them why they came: not for signs, but because you had your fill. Then He offers what they were actually hungry for: I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry.

Israel today demands a king like all the nations, another substitute filling. Bring your appetites to the reading; one of them is really for Him.

Israel's king request and the crowd's bread request share a root: give us something manageable that meets our need, so we do not have to trust the invisible God daily. God granted the king and grieved the rejection; Jesus refused the bakery role and offered Himself instead, bread you receive by coming, believing, staying.

Never go hungry is a staggering claim, and millions across centuries have tested it against grief, prison, and plenty, and found it true. Your restless appetites, approval, control, security, are hunger pangs aimed at Him. Come again today; eat by trusting. And rest on 6:37: whoever comes, He will never drive away. That includes you, mid-craving.
