In Solomon's Colonnade, in winter, Jesus makes the promise every anxious believer should memorize: I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.

Then He doubles the security: my Father, who is greater than all, holds the same sheep in the same grip. Two hands, one keeping. Today also brings a cave, a spared king, and a wise woman named Abigail. Grip matters everywhere.

David held the knife, the grievance, and the perfect opportunity, twice today counting Nabal, and both times let God keep what God had promised. Abigail's sentence deserves a frame: your life is bound securely in the bundle of the living by the LORD your God. People that certain of God's keeping can afford astonishing restraint.

Jesus states the keeping as doctrine: eternal life given, never perishing, no snatching, His hand inside the Father's hand. Your security does not rest on your grip strength on Him but His on you. So return to your rest, my soul, and put down whatever sword you have been strapping on. The Keeper has this, and He has you.
