Some Greeks arrive wanting to see Jesus, and He reads it as the hour striking: unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

David, today, mourns the king who hunted him and is crowned over Judah. Losing that leads to multiplying, dying that leads to harvest, the kingdom's strangest law is today's lesson.

David buried his bitterness with Saul, publicly honoring the man who had hunted him for years, and only then received a throne, one tribe's worth, with a civil war ahead. God's promotions often arrive in installments, and they are safest in hands that have learned to grieve rivals instead of gloating.

Jesus turns the pattern into physics: buried seed, multiplied harvest; life clutched, life lost; life spent for Him, life kept forever. The Greeks wanted to see Jesus, and He pointed to a cross, because that is where He is most visible. Ask what kernel He is asking you to drop into the ground, comfort, credit, a claim, and trust the many seeds.
