A lamp for feet lights the next few steps, not the next few years. David is about to walk a very dark road out of Jerusalem, and Jesus a darker one across the Kidron Valley. Neither path is lit far ahead. Both are walked faithfully. Take your next step by the lamp.

Absalom's coup ran on charm, grievance-farming, and patience, and David's response was to walk out of his own capital weeping rather than turn it into a battlefield, trusting God with a throne he refused to defend by slaughter. Sometimes faith looks like an orderly retreat with worship at the summit.

Jesus walked His Kidron the opposite direction, toward the torches, and His I am He knocked an arrest party flat before He let them bind Him. Both roads were lit only a step at a time, and the lamp held. Yours will too. Stop demanding floodlights for the decade; take the next obedient step, and then the one after.
