Hebrews finishes its faith gallery today with names and nameless alike, some who conquered kingdoms and shut lions' mouths, and others who were tortured, sawed in two, destitute, the world not worthy of them.
Then the camera turns to you: therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, run. The bleachers of history are full and friendly.
Hebrews 11 refuses to sort faith by outcome. Kingdom-conquerors and the sawed-in-two stand in one gallery, commended together, because faith was never measured by whether the lions' mouths shut. Some witnesses cheer you from victories, others from graves the world was not worthy of, and all of them finished.
