God gives Ezekiel a job title today that comes with terrifying accounting: son of man, I have made you a watchman. Speak my warning and you have saved your life, whatever they do with it. Stay silent and their blood is on your hands.

The watchman is not responsible for the response, only the warning. That distinction will free you and convict you in the same breath.

The watchman's math is severe mercy. Ezekiel could not make anyone repent, and God never asked him to. He asked for the trumpet, blown clearly, every time. Faithfulness got measured at the mouth, not at the response, which freed the prophet to love people who ignored him for years.

You carry some watchman assignments too, truths owed to people you cannot control. The throne of grace is where watchmen resupply: mercy for your own failures, grace for the next hard conversation, and a High Priest who knows exactly how the warning feels in a dry mouth.
