Daniel is over eighty now, so faithful that his enemies audit his whole life and find exactly one vulnerability: we will never find any basis for charges against this man unless it has something to do with the law of his God.

So they weaponize his prayer schedule. And Daniel, hearing the decree was published, went home and prayed, just as he had done before. Today is about windows that stay open.

The conspirators' audit is the finest compliment in Scripture: decades of public life and the only charge available was consistency in prayer. Daniel's habit predated the crisis by a lifetime, which is why the crisis could not move it. Open windows were simply who he was by then.

Peter reads God's own consistency the same way: the delay of the day of the Lord is not slowness but patience, mercy holding the door for more people.
