Jeremiah tries to quit today. Mocked, beaten, put in stocks, he vows to never mention God again, and discovers he cannot: his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.

You deceived me, LORD, is in the Bible on purpose. Jeremiah's complaint is furious, personal, and fully published, and God kept His prophet anyway, because honest fire beats polite ice. The call survived the complaint. It always does when the complaint is prayed rather than performed.
