Into the middle of Jeremiah's hardest book, God inserts two chapters of pure comfort. The scholars call them the Book of Consolation. The heart just calls them water in the desert.

Today God explains His stubborn pursuit in one line: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Read everything else standing inside that sentence.

Jeremiah earned his nickname, the weeping prophet, honestly. Which makes these chapters shine brighter: the man who saw the siege coming also heard everlasting love declared over the very people under judgment. The wrath had a timeline. The love had none.

Hold the day's two promises together: God will turn mourning into gladness, and He will refresh the weary soul. Rachel gets told to dry her eyes because hope has a return date. Whatever you are grieving tonight has not escaped the reach of everlasting. He is still drawing you.
