From prison, Jeremiah receives one of the Bible's open-ended invitations: call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
The man could not leave the courtyard, and heaven put no restrictions on the line. Whatever confines you today, a circumstance, a diagnosis, a season, the invitation stands unrevoked and unedited.
Call to me, spoken into a prison courtyard, may be the most generous sentence a confined man ever received. God did not adjust Jeremiah's circumstances first. He opened the line, and promised revelation beyond the prophet's current knowledge, unsearchable things, wedding sounds in ruined streets.
The invitation is unexpired. Paul's word to Timothy sketches what answering it builds: a life trained toward godliness, exemplary in speech, conduct, love, faith, purity, at any age. Prayer is not the consolation prize of the stuck. It is the widest door in the building. Call.
