Paul empties his trophy case today. Pedigree, credentials, zeal, righteousness, the whole shelf, and writes one word across it: rubbish. Not because it was worthless, but because he found something that made it weightless.

Whatever you are proudest of, bring it to this reading. Not to burn it, but to weigh it against knowing Christ, and see what happens to the scale.

Paul's accounting is the strangest in Scripture: assets moved to the loss column, voluntarily, because one line item made everything else rounding error. The surpassing worth of knowing Christ. Notice he never says his credentials were fake. He says they were light.

Isaiah 66 explains what God was never impressed by anyway: temples, resumes, thrones. What He esteems is humble, contrite, trembling at His word, which is exactly what a man sounds like after his trophy case stops mattering. Press-on people travel light. That is how they strain forward.
