God posts directions at a crossroads today: stand, look, ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. Judah's answer is four words long: we will not walk.

Every generation stands at that intersection. Yours is standing there now. Today, be the traveler who actually asks.

Peace, peace, when there is no peace: the deadliest malpractice in Jeremiah is spiritual leaders bandaging wounds lightly, keeping patients comfortable while the infection spreads. Judah's numbness followed, a people who forgot how to blush. Comfort without truth anesthetizes; it never heals.

The ancient path still runs where it always did, and Colossians names its modern trailhead: as you received Christ, so walk, rooted, built up, strengthened. Not a new technique. The old road, taken daily. Rest for souls remains the destination, and the offer at the crossroads has never expired.
