Paul contrasts two harvests today, and his word choice does the preaching: the flesh produces works, effortful and exhausting, but the Spirit grows fruit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness.
Machines make works. Trees make fruit. The question underneath your spiritual life, quieter than all the others, is which one of those two you have been trying to be.
