Israel complains that God ignores their fasting, and God audits the fast: you do as you please, exploit your workers, and end the day in a fistfight. Then He describes the fast He actually chooses: loose the chains of injustice, share your food, open your home.

Worship that costs others nothing costs you nothing. Today recalibrates the scale.

God rejected fasts that inconvenienced only the faster. The fast He chooses runs outward: chains loosed, bread shared, wanderers housed, and the reward list is staggering, light like dawn, healing, guidance, a new name. Repairer of Broken Walls is the title God hands to people whose worship leaks into the street.

Paul, actually in chains, models the spirit of it: his imprisonment became infrastructure for the gospel. He measured everything by advance, not comfort. The work God began in you has that same trajectory, and He finishes what He starts, through fasts that feed somebody else.
