The Song reaches its thesis today: love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, and many waters cannot quench it.

Every human love is an ember of a larger blaze. Read today's poetry twice, once for marriage, and once for the Love that pursued you all the way into a grave and out.

Love is as strong as death was the boldest claim poetry could make, until Easter made it an understatement. At the cross, love met death head-on, and death lost. Many waters could not quench it. A sealed tomb could not hold it. The Song was prophecy wearing a wedding dress.

Psalm 51 shows that love working on its hardest case: David, guilty of everything, asking to be created clean, and receiving it. The flame that outburns death also outburns your worst chapter. Set yourself like a seal on that heart. It has never once let go.
