Cards of Hope for Huruma
Leaders
Share encouragement with children and students at Huruma Children’s Home in Kenya—one handwritten message at a time.
During this project, we will write uplifting messages in birthday cards for approximately 300 children who call Huruma home. The cards will be delivered by the Hope for Huruma team later in October and presented to the children during special celebrations held in their birthday month.
We will also prepare “success cards” for students taking Kenya’s national exams in October and November. These messages will remind them that people across the world are praying for them, cheering them on, and believing in their future.
This is a simple, meaningful service project for all ages. You don’t need to be a perfect writer—sample messages and ideas will be available to help. You may also share a favorite Bible verse, a meaningful message about God’s love, or a few words that encourage the children in their faith.
A thoughtful message can help a child feel known, celebrated, and deeply loved. Together, we can send hope and encouragement more than 9,000 miles away and remind the children of Huruma that they are part of a much larger family of faith.
